Tonari Privacy Policy

This page explains what data Tonari handles, why we handle it, which providers help us run the service, and what control you have over your information.

Last updated: March 13, 2026

What matters most

  • Tonari is for private pet memories, not for advertising, data brokerage, or behavior-tracking analytics.
  • You can use Tonari in guest mode with local-only data before choosing to sign in or enable cloud-backed features.
  • We only share data with the service providers needed to run authentication, sync, subscriptions, media storage, and crash diagnostics.
  • You can export data from the app and request account deletion, including associated cloud data.

What we process

  • Account details needed to sign you in and protect your account, such as your email address, sign-in provider, and basic account metadata.
  • Content you choose to create in Tonari, including pet profiles, notes, attached images, and optional location details.
  • Subscription status and purchase-related identifiers needed to unlock paid features. Tonari does not receive your full payment card details.
  • Technical diagnostics such as crash reports and error logs that help us keep the app stable and secure.

How we use data

  • To provide core features such as pet profiles, the mail timeline, optional cloud sync, and cross-device account access.
  • To store, sync, back up, and delete the content you explicitly choose to keep in Tonari.
  • To process subscriptions, restore purchases, and keep your account's Pro status accurate.
  • To answer support requests, investigate failures, and improve reliability without turning your memories into advertising data.

Service providers we rely on

  • Supabase for authentication and structured cloud data such as account records, pet profiles, mails, and optional location data.
  • Cloudflare R2 and Workers for storing, delivering, and deleting uploaded images.
  • RevenueCat and platform app stores for subscription status, purchase validation, and billing-related entitlement handling.
  • Sentry for crash and error reporting so we can diagnose app failures.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not run Tonari as an ad-targeting or behavior-analytics product. We only share data with the providers above when it is necessary to authenticate you, sync your content, process subscriptions, store media, or diagnose app problems.

Your choices and controls

  • Guest mode lets you use Tonari locally without immediately creating a cloud-backed account.
  • Cloud sync is optional, and location attachment is optional.
  • You can export your data from inside the app.
  • You can delete your account, which triggers removal of associated cloud data.
  • You can contact us if you have a privacy question or need help with a data request.

Security and retention

We use access controls, authenticated requests, and provider security features to protect data in transit and at rest. We keep data only for as long as needed to operate Tonari, support your account, comply with legal obligations, and honor deletion or support requests.
